The composition of Tibetan incense depends on its use: incense used for meditation and ritual offerings, or as medicinal plants to soothe, relax, harmonize, relieve tension, energetic disorders and purify the air.

Tensions, stress and trauma are analyzed by Tibetan medicine as an imbalance of the different 'winds' (Ch'i in Chinese, r'Lung in Tibetan, Vata in the Ayurvedic tradition).
