DIY: Shrink plastic spindles

DIY: Shrink plastic spindles

Discover how to make beautiful fruity and glittery spindles in shrink plastic with our video tuto!

Material :

Pastel crazy plastic

- Markers (we used a chalky finish jade green marker, a double-tipped pen and a white chalk marker)

A glossy top coat

Glitter powders

Pin fasteners

A glue gun

To make these spindles:

1. Draw your pins on the rough side of the crazy plastic sheets using markers or pencils. As you cook, the colour will intensify. Remember that the plastic will become seven times smaller when you put it in the oven. Carefully cut out your patterns.

2. Preheat your oven to 150°C. Place a sheet of aluminum or parchment paper on the baking sheet of your oven and place your crazy plastic pins on it. As it retracts, the plastic twists and takes strange shapes, it's normal! Cook your pins for 2 to 8 minutes, carefully monitoring the cooking process. The plastic is completely retracted when it lies flat in the oven on its own.

3. Once your pins have cooled, decorate them with glitter and finishing topcoat. You can cover your pins totally or partially with glitter by gluing them with the topcoat. You can also pour a few glitter into your topcoat to give a small shiny touch to your spindles.

4. Finally, glue your pin fasteners to the back of the pins with the glue gun.
