August preserves

Are you overwhelmed by your harvests and you no longer know what to do with your vegetables? To not lose them, nothing could be simpler, put them in a can!

The vegetables concerned are:

  • Carrots
  • Tomatoes
  • The onions
  • Green beans
  • Zucchini
  • Peas

You can keep them raw or processed! We offer you some simple recipe ideas below!

A winter soup:

Ingredients :

For 1 bottle = 4 people

  • 400 g of courgettes
  • 200 g of carrots
  • 1 defatted chicken stock cube
  • 2 Gruyère fondants
  • Salt and pepper

Steps :

1. Peel the vegetables.
2. Cut them into thin slices.
3. Cook them for 30 minutes in 1 liter of water with the stock cube.
4. Salt and pepper.
5. Mix.
6. Add the cheese and mix again.
7. Using a funnel, fill your bottles with hot soup.
8. Close them.
9. Sterilize for 1 hour at 100 ° in a sterilizer.

A colorful macedonia:

Ingredients :

  • Green beans
  • carrots
  • Diced zucchini
  • Peas
  • Flageolets

Steps :

1. Peel the carrots and zucchini.
2. Wash the carrots.
3. Remove the stems from the green beans and wash them.
4. Cut all these vegetables into small cubes.
5. Shell the peas.
6. In a large bowl, combine all the vegetables (even frozen peas and flageolet beans).
7. Boil your jars and lids and turn them over on a clean cloth.
8. Fill the jars with macedonia.
9. Add 1 tablespoon of salt then cover with water.
10. Close the jars.
11. Put to sterilize 2 hours at 100 °.
